Description

Inspired by the ASICS VICKKA training shoe released in the 1980s, the GEL-Vickka Pro has been updated to skateboard specifications - analyzing the movement of skateboarding to engineer stability, board feel, and durability into a silhouette rooted in ASICS court heritage. Available to shop in-store and online at No-Comply Skateshop in downtown Austin, TX, the Black/Brown colorway is a clean, earth-toned combination that works on and off the board.

Design Heritage The GEL-Vickka Pro traces its lineage to the ASICS VICKKA, a training shoe designed in the 1980s with a sole engineered to increase stability against complex, multi-directional movements. The Pro update takes that stability-first design philosophy and applies it to the specific demands of skateboarding - a sport with similarly complex, unpredictable foot movements. The Black/Brown colorway keeps the palette grounded and versatile across skating and everyday wear.
Upper Construction One-piece forefoot construction reduces the risk of peeling at the toe - the area of the upper that takes the most abuse from grip tape during skating. The one-piece design eliminates the seams and overlays that typically separate and peel under repeated ollie and flip trick stress, extending the upper's lifespan significantly.
Insole and Board Feel Dual-density insole engineered with different hardness on the inside and outside of the foot, based on analysis of skateboarding competition movement patterns. Punching holes in the insole promote an inner center of gravity shift, increasing the sense of stability and control on the board. The asymmetric density design is specific to the lateral-to-medial weight transfer demands of skateboarding.
GEL Heel Cushioning GEL technology in the heel area delivers excellent cushioning comfort on hard landings - the same impact absorption system that has defined ASICS footwear since the 1980s. The rearfoot GEL placement targets the primary impact zone for skateboarding, absorbing energy on landing and dispersing it away from the heel and ankle.

WASH & CARE INSTRUCTIONS:

Remove loose surface dirt from the upper using a soft sneaker brush or dry microfiber cloth. Spot clean carefully with a mild sneaker cleaning solution applied with a soft cloth. Allow to air dry naturally at room temperature away from direct sunlight or high heat sources. Do not machine wash or tumble dry.
